Islam Slimani Looking To Quit Leicester City In January

Leicester City striker Islam Slimani is reportedly keen to leave the club during the January transfer window.

Islam Slimani moved to Leicester City in August 2016 for a club-record £28m fee following the Foxes’ unprecedented Premier League title triumph but struggled to nail down a regular place in the side, featuring just 23 times in his debut season.

Slimani has added just five appearances to that tally so far this term and, according to L’Expression, he is now keen to move on to pastures new in the winter window.

The publication says that new Leicester boss Claude Puel is planning to run the rule over Slimani in the coming weeks before making a decision on his future – although it is believed that the side would only sanction a loan exit for the remainder of the season.

There are however also reportedly questions over whether either side has the financial power available to help Leicester recoup the club record £28m they paid for the services of the Algerian forward.

Leicester currently sit 12th in the Premier League after eleven games following Saturday’s 2-2 draw at Stoke where Slimani was an unused substitute.
